What’s Included in a Healthy Homes Assessment
Our comprehensive report evaluates your property against all five Healthy Homes Standards, including supporting evidence and recommendations to help you reach full compliance.
1. Heating
We measure your main living area and confirm whether your fixed heating device (e.g. heat pump or wood burner) can maintain the required 18 °C temperature threshold.
2. Insulation
We check your ceiling and underfloor insulation to ensure it meets the minimum R-values and installation standards, and identify any damp or damaged sections.
3. Ventilation
We assess airflow in living spaces, bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms to confirm that windows and extraction fans meet the required ventilation ratios.
4. Moisture & Drainage
We inspect gutters, downpipes, surface drainage, and sub-floor moisture barriers to ensure water is directed away from the building and that the home stays dry.
5. Draught Stopping
We identify any gaps, cracks, or open fireplaces that allow unreasonable draughts and reduce heating efficiency.

How long does a Healthy Homes Assessment take?
Most standard rental properties can be fully inspected within 1–2 hours, depending on size and layout. Larger or multi-unit properties may take longer, especially if access to subfloors or roof spaces is required.
How long is the Healthy Homes report valid for?
There’s no formal expiry date, but it’s recommended to update your report every 2–3 years or after major renovations, new tenancies, or insulation/heating upgrades to ensure your property remains compliant.
Can you help me fix any non-compliance issues?
Yes. If your report identifies areas that don’t meet the standards, we’ll clearly outline what needs to be done. We can also refer trusted local contractors for insulation, heating, or ventilation work to bring your property up to standard.
What happens if my property doesn’t comply?
